Hagi ware is made of kuchi-tsuchi clay from Yamaguchi prefecture and is known for it's subtle texture and earthy presence.
The katakuchi is a spouted bowl, originally designed to pour sake. It's a great way to serve sake chilled, or at room temperature. But a katakuchi could also be used for pouring sauces and dressings table-side.
This katakuchi is designed by Osamu Saruyama and made at the Oya kiln in Hagi City, Yamaguchi, Japan.
