A mamezara, which translates to bean dish, is used for a myriad of purposes, but is most commonly used as a vessel for dipping sauces, pickles and side dishes in traditional Japanese cuisine. These Hasami porcelain mamezara come in a variety of shapes and some have corners that function as a spout.
This Azmaya mamezara is designed by Osamu Saruyama and made at the Shiratake kiln in Hasami, Nagasaki, Japan.
