A chazutsu is used for storing dry tea leaves. The tight fit of the double lid ensures dry storage. The surface of this chazutsu is bare copper and will develop a beautiful patina over time. The Azmaya chazutsu is made by Shinkō Kinzoku in Tsubame, Niigata, Japan.
To scoop tea leaves from the tea caddy, scoops are available in bamboo or tinned copper.
