Pottery has been fired in Tokoname in Aichi, Japan since the 12th century. The area is known for its many ceramic products, but the Tokoname kyusu teapot is perhaps the best known. It is fired from unglazed Tokoname clay and has a fine, irregular surface that is said to enhance the flavor of the tea. Similar to tea ware made in Yixing, this 300 ml Tokoname kyusu has a fine ceramic tea leaf filter and a tight-fitted lid for optimal control when pouring.
Rinse and dry well after use. Do not use hard objects to clean the inside of the pot for the filter could break.
